Young Children’s Center for the Arts, Inc. Is a nonprofit, licensed childcare facility and creative arts preschool program that has served the needs of more than 1,000 people in our Philadelphia community since 1987.
YCCA is a nonsectarian preschool and daycare center, housed on the property of historic Old Swedes Church at Water & Christian streets and 1714 South 2nd street. Our diverse population represents children from every neighborhood throughout Philadelphia and its surrounding suburbs.
YCCA Online programs have been added to our infrastructure to allow parents the option to continue preschool learning programs from the comfort of their homes.
The Center’s mission is to enrich the lives of children from infancy through kindergarten through the participation in the creative and fine arts. We accomplish this by providing a structured creative arts curriculum within through an online portal.
Children’s motor, language, emotional and cognitive skills are developed through music, art and movement. Each time ideas are presented through a different art form, learning becomes reinforced, and children’s expressive abilities are enhanced.
Young Children’s Center for the Arts is one of the few preschool programs in our area that not only accepts, but embraces, children with developmental disabilities in an inclusion program.
